Constituency Assistants – Prince Albert Constituency Office
One full-time and one part-time position



Customer Service/Advocacy
Our constituency assistants advocate on behalf of our community. These roles are customer-service oriented. We are looking for persons passionate about serving the great people and businesses in the federal riding of Prince Albert.

Writing Skills/Social Media
You also have strong writing skills to document constituent requests and to follow up with government departments.  You will provide constituents and community groups with information and all required follow up.

Local Issues Monitoring
You will monitor local government and community activities to keep the Member of Parliament informed of local and emerging issues.

Ministerial Liaison
You will maintain a working relationship with Ministry Offices and local groups to provide constituents with information and assistance in resolving questions and problems.

Office Management
You are tactful, diplomatic and organized. Tasks include welcoming constituents, correspondence, computer record management and a familiarity with office equipment such as PC, scanner, facsimile, and other office machines. You are comfortable in working in a team atmosphere.

Event Management
You will work together to organize event logistics, volunteers, equipment, set-up and promotion.  You will also staff the Member of Parliament at all local events.

Qualifications
Strong inter-personal skills, customer service skills, excellent writing and communication skills.

A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective information and advocacy strategies and to exercise diplomacy and political judgment is an integral part of this position. Confidentiality is a requirement.


Working knowledge of MS Office and social media is a requirement.  Working knowledge of Maximizer software would be considered an asset.


Knowledge of communities in the constituency is also an asset.  Although bilingualism would also be viewed as an asset, it is not a requirement.
