Coronation Medal Recipient Alan Fraser

Alan Fraser, a Prairie Provinces native, graduated from Sturgis Composite High School in 1969 and joined the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in Canada and abroad. He earned three medals: UN Emergency Force-Middle East, Special Service to the Arctic, and Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal. From 1977 to 2007, he served with the Prince Albert Police Service across various sections, earning the Canadian Police Exemplary Medal, Saskatchewan Protective Service Medal, and Saskatchewan Centennial Commemorative Medal. He was instrumental in Crimestoppers, organizing a long-running golf tournament, and helped establish a Neighbourhood Watch Group. Currently, he’s President of the Prince Albert Police Alumni. Alan coached minor hockey, served as President of the Westhill Community Club during a $175,000 renovation, and led the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation to financial stability. He announced games for the Prince Albert Raiders and served as treasurer for the Senior Men’s Golf Club. Named Citizen of the Month in 2000, he’s a 38-year Mason, chairs a scholarship committee, and served on the Ranch Ehrlo Buckland Community Committee. Married to Barbara for 50 years, he has two sons and five grandchildren, living in Prince Albert for 47 years.
