Coronation Medal Recipient Delbert Kirsch

Delbert Kirsch is the former MLA for Batoche, Saskatchewan. He served from 2003 to 2024, winning elections in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016, and 2020.
As an opposition MLA, he was appointed as the critic for Forestry, deputy critic for Northern Affairs and Industry & Commerce, and deputy chair of the Standing Committee on the Economy.
Under Premier Brad Wall’s Saskatchewan Party government, Kirsch chaired the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice and served as Legislative Secretary to the Premier (Saskatchewan Heritage Initiative) and to the Minister of Corrections, Public Safety, and Policing. Re-elected in 2020 by a wide margin, Premier Scott Moe appointed Delbert as the Deputy Caucus Chair. He also served on the caucus Management Committee and the Economy, Private Bills, and Public Accounts committees. Kirsch also served as Deputy Government House Leader, and chaired the Private Members Committee, and contributed to the House Services, Crown and Central Agencies, Intergovernmental Affairs & Justice, and Privileges committees, demonstrating a strong commitment to Saskatchewan’s legislative and community interests. For 20 years, Delbert served as a strong and learned voice for the constituency of the Batoche riding.
