For 70 years, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has been an unwavering example of service to Canada and to the Commonwealth. This momentous occasion is an opportunity to celebrate those who make our community better, while paying tribute to the lifetime of work and commitment of our Queen.
While government issued 60,000 medals in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee, a repeat of the gesture was not planned federally. I have thus commissioned Platinum Jubilee Medallions for presentation to individuals who have made contributions in any number of fields, including community service, business, arts and culture, sports, education, and volunteerism.
A selection panel will help me identify recipients who have made positive contributions to our constituency. Medallion recipients will be announced during the Fall Parliamentary Session. Recognition ceremonies are also planned.
Written nominations as to why you believe someone should receive a Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion can be submitted below. Please include copies of relevant documentation. Nominations will be accepted until Monday, October 31, 2022.
